WELCOME TO MY SITE AND HAVE A GOOD DAY

If this is your first time in this site, welcome. It has been my dream that my province, Marinduque, Philippines becomes a world tourist destination not only during Easter Week but also whole year round. You can help me achieve my dream by telling your friends about this site. The photo above is your own private beach at The Chateau Du Mer Beach Resort. The sand is not as white as Boracay, but it is only a few steps from your front yard and away from the mayhem and crowds of Boracay. I have posted some of my favorite Filipino and American dishes and recipes on this site also. Some of the photos and videos on this site, I do not own. However, I have no intention on infringement of your copyrights. Cheers!

Meanwhile,  Introducing Iloilo City- My Birthplace and where I spent my primary school years in the Philippines
Iloilo: A Living Museum of History, Culture, and Gastronomy
Iloilo, once called “La Muy Leal y Noble Ciudad" (The Most Loyal and Noble City) by Queen Regent Maria Cristina of Spain during the Spanish colonial era, is a vibrant city that beautifully blends its rich historical and cultural heritage with modern-day progress. Steeped in centuries of tradition, the city stands as a living museum—an open-air experience where visitors can immerse themselves in the past while enjoying contemporary comforts.
At the heart of Iloilo’s historical charm is 💚Calle Real, the city’s former commercial center, lined with Spanish-era buildings that transport you to a time when the city flourished as a hub of trade and culture.
Iloilo also boasts what is probably the highest concentration of museums in the Visayas and Mindanao. These include the Museo Iloilo, National Museum Western Visayas, and the Iloilo Museum of Contemporary Art (ILOMOCA).
The city is also home to majestic churches, such as the Jaro Cathedral and Molo Church, as well as scenic plazas like Plaza Libertad, where history is ever-present in the stillness of the spaces.
Iloilo’s cultural vibrancy bursts to life every January with the Dinagyang Festival, a lively celebration of faith, history, and culture featuring vibrant street dancing, colorful costumes, and energetic performances that draw thousands of visitors.
In 2023, Iloilo was awarded the UNESCO Creative City of Gastronomy. This highlights the city’s culinary excellence, underscoring its rich tradition of delicious, locally sourced dishes and innovative food culture. From La Paz Batchoy and Pancit Molo to its modern gastronomic scene, Iloilo’s food is an integral part of its cultural identity.
Today, Iloilo is a harmonious blend of old-world charm and new-world vibrancy, making it one of the most culturally rich cities in the Philippines. Whether you’re a history buff, a foodie, or someone simply looking to experience the warmth of Filipino heritage, Iloilo offers a journey through time, flavor, and hospitality.

Lastly, Just bringing a recent meal time conversation about no acknowledgement of THD residents suggestions from THD Management for the improvement of our quality of life and well-being here at THD. I know of a few examples of suggestion that was just totally ignored. To me this meant that if you are unhappy, just leave. THD has a waiting list of future renters.
